Rebranding an iconic British outdoor clothing company
Started over 30 years ago by British mountaineer Hamish Hamilton, outdoor clothing company Buffalo Systems had gained a reputation for designing exceptionally effective and durable garments. But despite having a very loyal following, the market had changed dramatically since Buffalo had entered it. Multiple large brands were competing for attention via ever more sophisticated marketing – so Buffalo asked us to help reposition their company and carve out their rightful place.

Brand essenceOur team stripped the brand back to its core. De-cluttering the name, developing a much stronger trademark and introducing a new tagline – “Between you and the wilderness” – to reflect their brand promise – garments that work no matter what nature throws at them.
DeliverablesTone of voice, point of sale, advertising, photography and their online presence were all re-developed from the ground up.
ResultsSince we launched the refreshed Buffalo the company has received unprecedented order levels, including a spike in overseas markets. This has led to a 57% increase in sales in under two years.
