Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam
Restaurant identities for a world-class hotel
Our relationship with the Waldorf Astoria brand goes back many years. So we were delighted to be asked to help launch their new flagship European hotel – WA Amsterdam. We were tasked with creating identities for each of the hotel’s restaurants and bars including their key fine dining restaurant Librije’s Zusje Amsterdam, a partnership with Holland’s 3 Michelin starred chef Jonnie Boer.

Menu designWorking closely with Jonnie and LZA Executive Chef Sidney Schutte we developed an identity concept to complement the gastronomic vision of the flagship restaurant. Coupling the playful qualities of the menus with the rich heritage, colour and textures of Dutch Vanitas paintings. Menus were created from sections of Adriaen van Utrecht’s ‘Banquet Still Life’ – as if it had been lifted from the wall and sliced to wrap them.
Michelin starsLibrije's Zusje Amsterdam launched to wide acclaim, achieving two Michelin stars within months of opening.
